3XCup and the 3XTour form Basketball Victoria’s 3x3 pathway for associations and schools. All basketball Victoria (BV) events are run on the FIBA3x3 event system and every event on the FIBA system accrues FIBA3x3 ranking points. 3x3 is growing in Australia and by having Victoria players participating in these vents now and accruing points, it puts them in the best possible position when these chances do arise.
Basketball Victoria 3x3 Championship Qualifier
The Basketball Australia 3x3 Championship represents the next step in the 3x3 pathway for Victorian athletes, building on the incredible momentum established through Basketball Victoria's (BV) 3XCup and 3XTour competitions over the past three years.
Basketball Victoria will host a BV Qualifier on Thursday, 18 December at the State Basketball Centre to select the two teams per age group that will be endorsed for the 3x3 Championships.
This qualification event is open to all teams, including associations, clubs, schools and private organisations, provided players meet the eligibility requirements.

What is on the line at the BA 3x3 Champs event?
- U23 Team winners - will receive entry to a FIBA Challenger event in 2026
- U23 players - national talent identification and selection for the national team for the 2026 FIBA U23 World Cup
- U17 players - national talent identification and selection for the national team for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Senegal
Registration Process
Registrations are now open for the BV Qualifier and will close on Thursday, 11 December at 5:00pm.
- Complete the team registration via the FIBA 3x3 event page through the button below. Please ensure all registration questions are completed, including player singlet numbers.
- Each player must have an individual FIBA 3x3 profile, create one through the button below. Be sure to confirm your profile via the verification email from FIBA 3x3.
Cost: $150 per team

3XTour
The 3XTour has been designed as the representative competition for 3x3 in Victoria. This brand-new concept is based on the FIBA3x3 World Tour structure and will give teams more opportunities to compete for their association in the 3x3 format. The 3XTour offers players the chance to compete in multiple once day events (known as tours stops), earning individual and team FIBA ranking points along the way without needing to commit to weekly matches. The competition finishes with the Tour Final, bringing together the top ranked teams across the age groups to compete to be Victorian Junior 3XTour Champions.
3XCup
3XCup from a club perspective starts at the association level. We are encouraging association to run their own event in the format that best suits them; whether it is indoor, outdoor, as a league or a one / multi day tournament (just as many have done already), but now there is something more to play for – progression! Teams will be able to qualify from their local event representing their domestic club or association wearing their club colours into Basketball Victoria’s ‘State Qualifying’ tournaments in the July holidays. There’ll be State Qualifiers around Victoria, of which teams will be able to attend the one or all, and from each event, teams will qualify for the Victoria 3XCup State Championships held in the September holidays and compete for the title of Victoria’s ‘State Champions!’
