Big V is thrilled with the announcement that the Division Two Men and Women’s Fixture has now been released.
The Division Two competition is building with excitement in the lead up to round one. League Management has worked closely with all 13 associations to develop a balanced fixture for the 2025 season. By encouraging associations to collaborate with others to enhance the experience on game day, the League has been able to create exciting double headers and weekends throughout the season.
The Division Two Women competition is back for the entire 2025 season comprised with 8 teams, including the reintroduction of Gippsland United and for the first time, Keysborough. In the Men’s competition, the 8 teams will go back at it again in what is expected to be even closer than 2024. New imports have entered the league and development players’ earning full-time positions in their senior sides.
Opening Round on the 22nd of March will showcase the return of Gippsland United’s Women’s team as they host RMIT in the opening game for Division Two. Surfcoast will play host to Southern Peninsula in a double header with their Men and Women. Surfcoast requested to host the opening round to not only welcome their senior teams to Big V 2025 but their fans and sponsors. Be sure to head around the coast as it will be a great night of basketball. Keysborough’s women will hit the road in their home opener as they head to face the 2024 Runners Up, Wallan in an exciting clash.
Within our competition, the featured rounds are an opportunity for associations to highlight the work they put into giving back to the community and put on a show through activations, presentations, moments of reflection, giveaways and donations. Southern Peninsula’s seniors will host ANZAC day on the 25th of April taking on Surfcoast in what will be a very special night. A ceremony will be held including an ANZAC Day Service and jersey presentation to both their men and women’s teams. In the 2024 season, Mildura hosted both Pink Round and First Nations suiting up in spectacular uniforms and putting on a great dame day experience for their fans. It is exciting to announce that Mildura will be hosting Pink Round on the 24th of May and First Nations on the 5th of July in the 2025 season.
Mental Health Round takes place in Round 16, a time dedicated to raising awareness and prompt conversations around mental health. All associations and clubs have the opportunity to be part of this weekend.
