Melbourne, Victoria - Basketball Victoria is excited to announce the athletes selected to represent Victoria at the 2026 Under-16 National Championships, set to take place in Bendigo this July.
Following a highly competitive selection process, a talented group of young athletes has been chosen to represent the state on the national stage. Many athletes return for their second Under-16 campaign, forming an experienced cohort that will be guided by an outstanding team of coaches and support staff.
Basketball Victoria High Performance staff praised the dedication and growth shown by athletes throughout the selection process.
All selected athletes represent the strength of basketball pathways across Victoria, with Basketball Victoria acknowledging the critical role played by families, associations and High Performance Hub staff in supporting athlete development.
Basketball Victoria General Manager - Performance Pathways Dom Linossier said the achievement reflects the collective effort of the broader basketball community, “We are proud of each athlete.
Linossier continues,” Their selection is a culmination of the work of many people, their families in supporting them every step of the way, their associations in ensuring that they work to position the youth athletes at the centre of their networks, and their coaches in providing the platform and guidance for the athlete to grow.”
The selection process was a challenging one for our selection panels - this is a testament to the strength of our programs and the breadth of talent that we see across the state.
Congratulations to the following athletes:
