Expression of Interest (EOI) for the Ivor Burge State Men’s and Women’s Teams Now Open
Basketball Victoria and the state coaching staff would like to invite athletes to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the 2025 Ivor Burge State Men’s and Women’s Teams.
The Ivor Burge Championships are the National Basketball Championships for athletes with an Intellectual Disability. You will need to have completed appropriate IQ testing and have an Ausrapid Number to be eligible to nominate.
Athletes selected into the state team will compete for the Ivor Burge Cup at the National Championship held from the 28th January - 2nd February 2025 in Ballarat.
The Ivor Burge Victoria Men’s and Women’s teams will comprise the best players from across Victoria. The Ivor Burge program replicates the Under 20 program, whereby there will be no separate Country or Metropolitan Teams. All eligible athletes are invited to register their interest, however only a limited number of places will be available and selected to attend the try-outs.
Women’s Trial Dates:
- When: Saturday October 5th and 12th, 2024
- Venue: State Basketball Centre
- Time: TBC
Men’s Trial Dates:
- When: Saturday October 5 and Sunday October 13
- Venue: State Basketball Centre
- Time: TBC
If further trials are required for either the women and/or men's teams, athletes will be advised.
Note: Selections will be made at the end of each session to attend the following trial.
