The 2025 Under 14 Junior Country Champs (JCC) were a huge success on the weekend! There was some great games played with the competition fierce across both the boys and girls divisions.
Swan Hill’s Girls Program on Fire
Swan Hill is making waves in junior basketball. Hot off their U12 Girls winning the Division 1 title in 2024, their U14 Girls squad followed suit this weekend by claiming the Division 2 championship. The back-to-back success is a clear sign of the talent and depth brewing in the region—watch this space!
Day 3 Crowd Favourites
The atmosphere reached fever pitch on Day 3, particularly during the Bendigo vs Ballarat Boys Division 1 Quarter Final, where the home crowd turned out in full force and brought the noise. Not to be outdone, the Girls Division 1 Grand Final between Pakenham and Warragul had fans on the edge of their seats, going down to the final moments with spectators from neighboring courts flocking to witness the thrilling finish.
Comeback of the Tournament
The Bacchus Marsh Girls delivered one of the most dramatic moments of the weekend, coming back from a 13-point deficit in their quarter final to steal a one-point victory in the dying seconds. A true showcase of heart, hustle, and resilience.
