Welcome to Big V’s Thursday Night Hoops and what a double-header we have in store for you. The Whittlesea Pacers play host to the Wallan Panthers in a Round 4 barn-burner. Let's break down tonight's games below:
Division Two Men
Whittlesea vs Wallan
A top-of-the-table clash between the two undefeated sides with the hosts Whittlesea Pacers taking on the Wallan Panthers. Both entering Round 4 with 3 wins a piece they’ve had quite different starts to the year, Whittlesea with 3 comfortable wins all over double figures with the Panthers battling out their 3 games in all close margins. Pat Green and Ashley Bryar have run rings around the league early pushing the pace and spreading the floor shooting at a high clip from deep. The Pacers have pushed the 100-point mark in each game thus far generating quick offence from their active defence. Arcaim Lallemand and Tom O’Connor will look to be physical in the paint as their size may overpower the Pacers to go along with Tyler Best’s agility on both ends. One will remain on top undefeated while the other will take their first loss for the year…who will it be?
Youth League Two Men
Whittlesea vs Wallen
Game one of a massive Thursday Night of Hoops for Big V during the Easter Holidays. Tonight, we see the Whittlesea Pacers host the Wallan Panthers in their first of two hit outs for the year. These two will not face one another until Round 17 so this is a big game for both as internal conference games matter! The Panthers have had a great start to the year rolling into Round 4 3-0 with some massive scorelines early in the year. James Bonnici has been putting on a clinic averaging 21ppg pulling down 13 rebounds and shooting almost 70% from the field. The Lombardo brothers, Stacey and Cairns are too averaging over 10ppg making for some very tough defensive assignments for their opposition. Whittlesea is not far off the pace dropping 2 games, in what was one of the most exciting games this Big V season. Ethan Bateman has been doing it all for the Pacers battling on both ends of the floor. Keep an eye out for some great young talent to move up the ranks from both groups in the coming years. This will be an exciting match-up!
